Chelsey Pelzman

Associate Attorney

Chelsey Pelzman approaches her practice as an Albuquerque Family Law attorney with a passion for helping individuals and families navigate challenging times with compassion and advocacy. Specializing in family law, Chelsey takes pride in representing clients through various family law issues, striving to reach solutions that are beneficial to the entire family unit. Her practice involves divorce and custody cases, as well as representing children that are experiencing abuse and neglect. Her holistic approach to each case reflects her belief that every client’s story is unique and deserves attention, care, and understanding coupled with expert legal advocacy and representation.

Born and raised in Albuquerque, Chelsey is deeply connected to the Land of Enchantment. Before attending law school, she gained valuable experience working as a Case Manager for foster care agencies and youth group homes, as a Community Discharge Planner at the Sandoval County Detention Center, and as a Legal Assistant for the Child Support Services Division. These roles, along with her legal background, shape her well-rounded approach to family law matters.

Chelsey is a University of New Mexico School of Law Alumni. Throughout law school she was a member of the Child and Family Justice Initiative, served as the Secretary for the Children’s Law Section of the New Mexico State Bar, represented UNM in a national Client Counseling Competition, completed training in the Theory and Practice of Mediation, and was given the Excellence in Alternative Dispute Resolution award by the faculty of the law school. Chelsey is skilled in both mediation and negotiation strategies.

Education

Chelsey earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Texas Tech University in 2017, and her Juris Doctorate from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 2022.
